Justin Timberlake is back and I am excited. After Justin announced his return, he dropped his groovy song Suit & Tie featuring Jay-Z a few days later. Then the buzz continued to grow. Before the Super Bowl, Justin performed a few new songs off his upcoming album and announced he would be playing the Grammys. After his incredible performance at the Grammys last night of Suit & Tie with Jay-Z, JT released his next single entitled “Mirrors”. The song seems to be written about the love of both Justin’s life as well as mine, Jessica Biel. Clocking in at over 8 minutes, Mirrors showcases just why we should be excited for The 20/20 Experience, which drops on March 15th!
Justin also has some cool things brewing over on his website like a pre-order and some limited edition Suit & Tie t-shirts! Check out Mirrors below and let us know what you think!

It started last December, when bands like mewithoutYou, Brand New, Manchester Orchestra, Kevin Devine and more all started posting the same exact thing on their twitter pages: “be patient. http://heatthing.com.” It was intriguing, but it got even better as time went on; there were scavenger hunts, mysterious packages, letters in invisible ink, and a ghostly ring leader, Levi Gudmundson (who died three years ago). If you want to follow the whole story, you should check out this. It’s worth reading about. Even as the album officially drops today, the mystery continues as to who exactly Shone is. Supposedly Brian Lane, the drummer from Brand New, is part of the mystery group. The world will have to wait until this Thursday, the first Shone show, to find out who plays what. It’s a great marketing strategy, a real life Where’s Fluffy? kind of thing. Yes, that’s an unashamed Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist reference. Anyways, I’m going to leave you all with their album stream on Sound Cloud so you can decide if it’s worth the hype or not.
Be warned, it’s weird. My first listen through it sounded like Foxy Shazam and Brand New had a really weird musical baby thats so bizarre it might work or you might hate it. I think I like it, but I’ve also heard from a lot of people who don’t think it’s particularly fantastic. So check it out and tell us what you think. My favorite track is Bestial.

I have never been a Miley Cyrus fan. I did, however, grow up with sisters who were fans of the show Hannah Montana so of course I watched it along with America’s Next Top Model, Gilmore Girls, and a countless number of chick flicks. But if you asked me what I thought about Miley Cyrus’ singing ability, I would tell you the girl couldn’t sing. Bryan would disagree since he loves The Climb, but I was not easily swayed. Well recently I stumbled upon this series of covers that Miley did last September and all I can say is wow; the girl has pipes. Check out Miley’s cover of Jolene below.
Introducing: Milk Carton Kids
I was just recently introduced to the absolute absurdity that is Milk Carton Kids. Los Angeles natives, these two actually reek havoc in the acoustic/bluegrass music scene. There’s not much to be said for this incredible duo. Watch the video and see for yourself.
Damn. Outkast hasn’t been happening. In fact, Andre has stated multiple times that Outkast is not going to happen, at least for awhile. But, Big Boi has wanted it to happen. Big Boi has tried to get Andre on both of his albums; however, the first time, due to issues with the record label, we were robbed of a reunion, however brief, and the second time Andre was wrapped up in contractual obligations. Well last week, Big Boi posted lyrics to a verse he was supposed to spit on Frank Ocean’s Pink Matter featuring Andre 3000. Big Boi stated that they were not going to release an Outkast song on another artists cd before Outkast finally returned but apparently something changed his mind. Below is “Pink Matter” featuring both Andre 3000 and Big Boi and while his verse doesn’t necessarily do a ton to the already incredible song, it still is awesome to hear the two rappers collaborate again. Check out the song below and let us know what you think.

Introducing : Coasta
Coasta is a three-piece band that originated out of Long Island, New York. Coasta is comprised of three members: lead vocalist/guitarist Jamey Lacey (who has quite the voice), drummer Chris Lorenz, and guitarist/bassist Steve Kupillas. This last year they released a very promising EP entitled, “Sunzal EP” which is made up of five tracks. The intro to the EP, “Young Blood“, I believe, speaks leagues about these guys. If Coasta releases a full-length in 2013, this is going to be a big year for them. Check out “Young Blood” below synced with the “Worst Music Video Ever” and if you dig their sound, grab their EP for only $4.00 on their bandcamp here.

In 2010, Bring Me the Horizon completely redefined themselves with their third album, There Is A Hell Believe Me I’ve Seen It, There Is A Heaven Let’s Keep It A Secret. The album not only garnished critical acclaim for the music, lyrics, experimentation, and maturity, but it was also nominated for Kerrang!’s 2011 Awards including Best Single for “Blessed With A Curse”, Best British Band, Best Album, and Best Video for “Alligator Blood”, winning the latter two. Needless to say, Bring Me the Horizon has many people watching them wondering, “what could possibly be next?” After guitarist Jona Weinhofen stated in an interview with NME that while writing for their upcoming album they “listen to this laid-back, epic music and think ‘If this was heavy – if we made metal out of this kind of music – it would be exactly what we want to sound like” even more ears began turning and the hype started swelling. Well they have finally released the first single off of their forthcoming album, “Sempiternal” and it’s a great progression from “TIAHBISI,TIAHLKIAS”. “Shadow Moses” clocks in at exactly four minutes and is comprised of a sweet intro, a catchy, anthem-esque chorus (Can you tell from the look in our eyes/ We’re going nowhere/ We live our lives and we’re ready to die/ We’re going nowhere/ You can run but you’ll never escape/ Over and over again/ Will we ever see the end?/ We’re going no where), and a plethora of breakdowns to create a perfect teaser for the album. Check out “Shadow Moses” below and stay tuned for pre-order/album info in the coming weeks.
